Pershing 6X Walkthrough: The Entry to the X Generation Is Not Gentle

All stories

Touring the Pershing 6X, the 62 footer Pershing lists at 48 knots with twin MAN V12 power, three cabins, and the full X Generation design language.

Entry level means something different at Pershing. The 6X sits at the smaller end of the X Generation range, and the only thing modest about it is the length. We put the cameras through a 2024 example for a full walkthrough, and the boat makes one point over and over: nothing about the Pershing experience was left behind to hit this size.

The speed is not a rounding error

Pershing lists the 6X at 18.94 meters overall, about 62 feet, with a 4.8 meter beam. Twin MAN V12 engines rated at 1550 horsepower each drive it to a listed top speed of 48 knots, with cruise at 40 and a range of 280 nautical miles at that pace. Hold those numbers against the class for a second. Most 62 footers cruise in the twenties and call it sporty. The 6X cruises at 40 knots, which means the islands get closer, the weather windows get wider, and the owner gets home for dinner. The walkthrough includes the helm in detail, because driving this boat is the entire sales pitch.

Design that earns the profile

The 6X carries the X Generation signatures: side wings flowing out of the superstructure, long hull windows that flood the lower deck, and a salon with front opening windows under a dark glass sliding roof. Aft, a reshaped sundeck handles the lounging, and a carbon and teak dining table anchors the cockpit. Up forward, a chaise longue with a reclining backrest claims the bow. Below are three cabins plus a crew cabin, so a family cruises in comfort while the boat stays crewed and ready. The material mix, satin woods against lacquer and leather, photographs well and lives even better. Watch the salon segment of the video with the roof open. That one shot explains the boat better than any paragraph, because the line between inside and outside simply disappears.

Why the 6X matters in the range

This is the boat that decides whether an owner joins the Pershing family, and the brand clearly built it like it knows that. For buyers stepping up from fast 50 footers, the 6X is the whole X Generation promise in its most attainable form, and the walkthrough is the closest thing to standing on the swim platform yourself.
