Waypoint Reaches the Carolinas and Georgia, Right on Snowbird Schedule

All stories

58 new listings put South Carolina, North Carolina, and Georgia on the map just as the fall ICW migration pours south past their docks.

Waypoint now covers the middle of the East Coast. This month the directory went live in the Carolinas and Georgia with 58 listings: 25 in South Carolina, 22 in North Carolina, and 11 in Georgia, spread from the Outer Banks and the Crystal Coast through Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Beaufort, Hilton Head, Savannah, and Brunswick.

Launched for the migration

The timing is deliberate. Every October and November, the snowbird fleet pours down the Intracoastal Waterway from the Chesapeake and the Northeast toward Florida, and nearly all of it funnels past these docks. For a boat heading south, the Carolinas and Georgia are where fuel stops happen, where weather windows get waited out, and where the problem you noticed off Cape Hatteras finally gets fixed. Until now, finding those pros meant cruising-forum folklore and guidebooks that go stale the season they print. Now there is a checked list, with phone numbers that still ring.

Names on the route

Jarrett Bay Boatworks sits at ICW mile 198 in Beaufort, North Carolina, handling repairs, refits, and haul-outs for vessels up to 300 tons. Zimmerman Marine runs coastal Carolina yards at Oriental and Holden Beach plus a Charleston location, with authorized Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Cummins, and Kohler service. In Georgia, Savannah's Isle of Hope Marina puts about 4,000 feet of concrete dock and a loaner car right on the waterway, and Brunswick Landing Marina offers over 445 wet and dry slips for vessels to 260 feet with a full service boat yard downtown.

The usual standard

Every listing in the wave was researched against the business's own live website and then re-verified through adversarial audit passes before publishing. The Verified badge means the owner personally claimed and confirmed the profile, and Verified businesses rank first in every search.
