Waypoint Passes 900 Verified Marine Pros Across 13 States
This week the directory crossed 900 listings, 921 as of this writing, from South Padre to Montauk. Here is the milestone, and the audit process behind every number in it.
This week Waypoint passed a milestone we have been chasing since launch: more than 900 marine professionals listed across 13 states. The exact count as of this writing is 921.
Where the network stands
Florida, where Waypoint started, still anchors the directory with roughly 694 pros. The rest of the map has filled in fast: 54 in Texas, 25 in South Carolina, 23 in Alabama, 22 each in Maryland and North Carolina, 20 in New York, 18 in Virginia, 12 each in New Jersey and Louisiana, 11 in Georgia, and 8 in Mississippi. Coverage now runs from South Padre Island at the bottom of Texas to Montauk at the tip of Long Island, around the Gulf, up the Atlantic seaboard, and through the Chesapeake, with our first inland coverage live on the Texas lakes and the Great Lakes on the roadmap.
Why the number means something
Anybody can scrape 900 phone numbers. The reason this milestone rates a note is what each listing goes through before it publishes. Every business is researched against its own live website, never a third party directory, so services, locations, and contact details come from the source. Then the batch goes back through adversarial audit passes whose only job is to break what the research built. In the most recent wave, 121 businesses were researched, four audit passes ran against them, 10 were removed outright, and 11 had details corrected before anything went live. That is roughly one listing in six flagged by our own process. We would rather publish fewer listings than wrong ones.
The Verified badge is a separate, higher bar: it means the owner personally claimed the profile and confirmed the details with our team. Verified businesses rank first in every search.
What it costs
Nothing, on both sides. Browsing the directory is free, and listings and leads are free for vendors right now, with founding rates locked in for the businesses that join early. Boaters in a hurry can skip browsing entirely: describe the job at In Search Of and matching pros get it by email with one tap to take it, or save a shortlist with My Plan and keep every pro on one page.
What is next
More states and more depth in the ones we have. Nautical Network and Boats Gone Wild together reach a boating audience of more than 250 million people a year, and the directory puts that audience to work for working pros. Nine hundred was a line in the sand. The next one is every coast.
