Waypoint Arrives on Long Island and the Jersey Shore
This month Waypoint went live in New York and New Jersey with 32 listings, from Montauk to Cape May, just as the Northeast winterization clock starts running.
Waypoint is live in the Northeast. This month we published our first New York and New Jersey listings, 20 pros on Long Island and 12 along the Jersey Shore, stretching from Montauk and the North Fork down through the South Shore, and from Barnegat Bay to Cape May.
The clock is the story up here
Nobody needs to explain winterization to a Northeast boater. Between mid-October and Thanksgiving, nearly every boat from the Hamptons to Cape May comes out, gets drained, and gets covered, and the yards that do it right are booked solid by the time the first hard frost hits the forecast. That is exactly why we launched this region now. The batch leans into the season: storage yards, mobile engine service, canvas shops, detailers, divers, surveyors, and haulers.
The oldest name on Waypoint
This wave includes the oldest listing in the entire network. Sag Harbor Yacht Yard traces its roots to 1797 and still offers certified winter storage, moorings, and a full service engine shop on Bay Street. Up in Greenport, Wm. J. Mills & Co. has been fabricating marine canvas since 1880 and is run by the sixth generation. On the Jersey side, Forked River Diesel & Generator in Waretown is a factory authorized Cummins and Westerbeke shop serving boats dockside and on the water, and Canyon Club Resort Marina in Cape May runs two travel lifts rated to 75 tons with a full service center behind them.
Checked the same way as everywhere
Every listing in the wave was researched against the business's own live website, then re-verified by adversarial audit passes before it published. The Verified badge means the owner claimed and confirmed the profile, and Verified businesses rank first in results.
Beat the frost
If your boat is still floating and your winterization date is still a maybe, this is the week to fix that. Browse storage and yards on Long Island or mechanical pros on the Jersey Shore, or post what you need at In Search Of and let matching pros answer. The season up here ends on a schedule. Your service plan should too.
