Uber Yacht — Available in Europe Summer 2024

July 13, 2024

Uber Launches 'Uber Yacht'

Are you going to spend some time in Europe this summer? Maybe explore Venice, but don’t have a boat? Or are you looking to cruise around in Ibiza, Mykonos, or Santorini with a bunch of friends, preferably aboard a yacht featuring sun pads, stereos, and an abundance of horsepower?

No problem—you’ve used Uber before, right?

The world-renowned transportation giant Uber, recently announced the European launch of its most luxurious product yet: ‘Uber Yacht’. The latest addition to their ever-growing service offerings is set to transform the way people explore the stunning coastlines of Europe.

“This summer, we are adding a series of bucket-list-worthy nautical experiences to the Uber app in some of Europe’s hottest destinations, helping holidaymakers make the most of their trip on the high seas.’’ — Anabel Diaz, vice president of EMEA mobility at Uber.

Responding to rising consumer demand, which is evident in the numbers from 2023, Uber plans to launch Uber Yacht this summer.

According to Uber’s newsroom, data from the summer of 2023 shows a 55% increase in demand for Uber’s services in Greece and Spain, with over 6.5 million international customers using the app in Europe’s top spots. Ibiza alone saw over 800,000 users in the past year, making it the perfect launch destination.

Starting in August, groups of up to eight can book a Sunseeker yacht at Ibiza Town Marina through the Uber app at the touch of a button. Departing daily at noon, this eight-hour trip costs €1600 or €200 per person, providing an affordable way to enjoy yachting unmatched by others. The seamless booking process is just one of many convenient features of the service. The eight-hour trip includes a personal skipper, a complimentary bottle of champagne, artisan snacks, and Uber transfers to and from the yacht anywhere on the island.

Pre-booking begins on July 26th, with service available throughout August.

Expanding their Boat Services

‘’Whether it’s sailing around Ibiza in your own private yacht or experiencing the Venetian Lagoon by boat, we’re thrilled to add some Uber magic to our customers’ holidays this summer.” — Anabel Diaz says.

Although the most exclusive offering, Uber Yacht isn’t their first foray into water transport. Uber Boat actually launched on the Greek party island of Mykonos last year. The service quickly became a popular way for travelers to explore the high seas and natural beauty of Greece, resulting in the company further expanding to Athens, Corfu, and Santorini this year. Just like the upcoming Uber Yacht service, Uber Boat can be booked through the Uber app, offering stylish travel to beach clubs, scenic bays, and remote locations by the touch of a button.

In addition to the Yacht and Boat services, Uber is also introducing ‘Uber Cruise’ and ‘Uber Limo’. The limo experience is launching this summer in the charming city of Venice, a city where cruise ships are restricted due to over-tourism. Starting this month, travelers can enjoy the romantic city aboard a ‘Limo Boat’, priced at €120 per trip. Departuring between 8 AM and 8 PM daily, groups of up to six people can cruise Venetian Lagoon in a most exclusive way.

The Uber Cruise service will debut during the first part of the Summer Olympics in Paris. All-electric boats will offer free one-hour tours down the Seine, providing views of landmarks like Notre Dame, Le Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower, all while guests sip bubbly and enjoy the ride—offering a unique way to experience the City of Lights.
